Mr. John Shingler has over 33 years of expertise in the property and casualty brokerage industry and specializes in manufacturing, healthcare organizations, construction and private equity firms with revenues over $25 million.
Before joining Sterling Seacrest Partners as a Strategic Risk Advisor and now a Partner, John held the position of Senior Vice President with Wells Fargo Insurance Services, Hamilton Dorsey Alston and Wachovia Insurance Services. Prior to this, he was a Senior Vice President and Principal at Boger, Reid, and Flournoy for 10 years before the firm’s purchase by Brown and Brown. John served as Senior Vice President at Brown and Brown for 3 years, growing a book of business that is now in excess of $8 million in premium volume.
John received a Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia’s school of journalism/advertising. He is an Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI).
John is an active member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, and has served on the Board of Trustees and the Administrative Board, and is a past Chairman of the Finance Committee. He currently serves on the Development Team of Trinity Community Ministries; a non-profit dedicated to transforming the lives of homeless men, and is a past Chairman of the Board. He co-leads a Bible Study every Saturday morning. John also previously served on the Board of Directors of Community Life Concepts, Inc., a non-profit focused on providing social services to community residents.
John is a member of Capital City Club. His professional affiliations include membership in the Associated Building & Contractors Association of Georgia, the Construction Financial Managers Association (CFMA), and the Southern Capital Forum. He is married with three children and three grandchildren.
