Mr. Douglas L. Rieder is Chairman of the Board of Sterling Seacrest Partners. Doug has over 30 years of experience in providing risk management, surety, and commercial/professional insurance solutions for construction and real estate clients.
At Sterling Seacrest Doug leads the Construction Services Practicewhich provides risk management, surety and insurance solutions to over 400 commercial contractors. . Prior to entering the agency business Doug held several senior surety underwriting and management positions with companies including The Home Insurance Companyand the Reliance Surety Company.
Previously Doug was President and Co-founder of Sterling Risk Advisors. Doug received a Master of Science degree in Finance from Georgia State University in 1991 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University in 1986.
As a thought leader in the industry Doug has authored a number of articles on insurance and surety topics and has been an active guest lecturer on such topics for the Associated Builders and Contractors, the Associated General Contractors, the Construction section of the Atlanta Bar Association, the American Subcontractors Association and Southern Polytechnic University. Through these associations he has also served on the board of the Georgia chapter of ABC and on various committees, including Management Education and Subcontractor Relations.
Recently Doug was honored with an appointment to the Board of Directors of the State Bank of Georgia, a $100,0000,000 asset community bank located in Fayetteville, GA. Doug has also recently been invited to serve on the board of a $100MM, 70 year old general contracting firm. He has also served as an expert witness and consultant on several cases involving surety issues.
